The Sorcerer’s Archive pulls you off the midway and into a narrow tent you do not remember seeing when you arrived.
Inside, books climb from floor to ceiling. Their leather spines are cracked and softened by many hands. Faded ink hangs sharp in the air, metallic and damp, as though the pages have just been written. Polished wood creaks somewhere overhead. No one answers when you call out.
Parchment settles close to the skin - dry, warm, and strangely alive - while amber resin and warm vanilla deepen the hush. The scent is old leather, wet ink, worn paper, and the quiet pressure of something turning pages in the dark.
You are certain there is no one else in the tent.
Then a book closes behind you.
